First listen is pretty good. Few classic sounding songs, and a rock a billy cover of midnight train to Memphis.
I really like story songs so scarecrow in the garden and simple song stand out to me on first listen.

Better than Volume 1 but not as good as Traveler. Going to be tough to ever top that album.

I agree. The whole “from a room” thing seems like he is just fulfilling a contract duty or something. Once again there are a couple really good songs and a lot of meh.

It’s not “from a room” it’s “from A room” which means studio A in Nashville aka RCA studio A where Elvis, cash, patsy cline, etc did most there big time recordings. It’s the New in thing lately. Dierks Bentley did it, jason isbell, Eric Church etc.

Lol I get that. I was commenting on this “whole double album that’s not a double album with nine songs on each with songs we’ve heard before and a bunch of meh thing”.

Listened to it a few times now. It's good compared to most everything else, but not great. I thought Vol 1 was pretty solid, minus Them Stems and Death Row. Vol 2 doesn't have any songs I hate, but everything except Scarecrow is somewhat forgettable.
