But in all seriousness I think that Shovels and Rope could hit it pretty big here soon. Especially if they follow up with another good album. They put on a great live show and are really hitting the festival scene good this summer. Will be very interesting to see what happens with them in the future.

I've been saying the same thing to anyone who will listen to me. I love catching bands on the rise and watching their progression through the industry. How they adapt and change throughout the years is really interesting stuff.

While I like their sound, I think they are way too "country" to become big... Now if you mean the big thing of a relatively small genre, perhaps that makes more sense to me...

They bring a lot of energy to the stage, at least they did at hangout. As I said in another thread i would call them Folk Rock, with an emphasis on the rock. I will rejudge after tonight, but they bring a whole lot of sound for the minimal equipment they use.
