Thanks Ida

We are absolutely heartbroken to announce that we must cancel Bonnaroo. While this weekend’s weather looks outstanding, currently Centeroo is waterlogged in many areas, the ground is incredibly saturated on our tollbooth paths, and the campgrounds are flooded to the point that we are unable to drive in or park vehicles safely.
Early entries were supposed to start tomorrow.

Beyond bullshite. Had the car packed and ready to leave in the morning. Was picking up a buddy at the airport at 9 and headed up. People I was going with have an RV rented and now stuck with it for 6 days and trying to figure out what to do. Don’t understand why they can’t just move entry out to Thursday and do it then. Weather looks beautiful this weekend too. Sucks all around. Lots of $$ spent on it already that I won’t be getting back. Never again with Roo.

Weather? Lol I’ve seen people die crawling naked thinking they are Jesus but ok.

Those people have in the past had places to park and set up camp that weren't flooded.

Yep. Here’s a novel idea, with an event of this magnitude, maybe have all your stages, tents, facilities, ect setup more than 3/4 days before your audience is set to arrive.

And yeah, would’ve been, without a doubt, the best weather the festival has had in its history. Much like our country, this is what happens when you have stupid people in leadership positions.

Sounds like the bigger issue is how soggy/muddy the campground and parking areas are. I’d imagine most of the stages and stuff have already been set up, and they start that a week or two before the event.

Definitely sucks for those that were planning to hit the road today,

Foo Fighters
My Morning Jacket
Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit

I only live 150 miles away, and these were the only acts I see that I would travel that far to watch. Maybe not to others, but to me, this was a horrible lineup and cancellation is no big loss.

Of course it’s not a big deal. You weren’t going and hadn’t planned for it for 5 months

Do you really think they didn’t have these things set up already the day people were to begin arriving?
Go look at the pics.

The issue was the camp ground primarily and general flooding inside the festival.

Right there with ya. Was halfway loaded and about to leave Wed at noon.

I paid 75 bucks for trip insurance on a camper, but may not get a full refund because of the way bonnaroo cancelled. Their official announcement said something about waterlogged/saturated grounds. I filed for a natural disaster, which includes hurricanes and flooding. May get fricked on this deal due to their wording. We shall see.

After seeing the pics of centeroo and the volunteer campground, I get it. Hell there's a tractor in the middle of an aisle buried 3 feet in mud. It would have been absolutely impossible to get 2wd cars past the actual gravel roads. That ground was nasty wet, and wasn't going to clear up by Thursday. You'd have half the attendees stranded outside the gates. I don't blame roo for the crazy weather.

I think Roo failed way before this cancellation by having the worst communication they've had in recent memory about EVERYTHING leading up to the festival. The delayed covid protocols, the cancellation of acts that had no explanation, the lack of hype, etc. They are usually the best at all of these things.

Thankfully i'll probably recoup 1800 of the 3500 I spent on this, but will have to think HARD before returning in 2022. I have been 5 times and had planned to keep returning but this one left a very bad taste.

I’ll never do it again. Had already said after 2013 I wasn’t going back even though that was a great time. Got drunk and bought a ticket in April but was all about it since then

Meh. Would’ve been fun to wallow in the mud and the blood and the beer.

Lightning and monsoon didn’t stop Woodstock

I went to the first Bonnaroo. The music was great (with some exceptions) but the weather was brutal. It was so hot and humid. I did nothing but sweat the whole time. There were no showers. I brought towels and a couple pails to fill with water, one for soaping and one for rinsing, so I could give myself a sponge bath in my tent. I couldn’t dry off. My white t-shirt turned brown because I was soaked with sweat and there was nothing but dirt pathways. Also, we spent 17 hours in traffic trying to get into the place until some local led us on a back way to get into the venue. That dude was a hero. But...never again.

Well now there's concrete showers, real bathrooms, free fresh city water throughout the entire venue.. and so much more

I'm not saying it wasn't a big deal to those who were going...but it would be worse if the lineup was better.
