Board's thoughts on Bee Gees?

Not sure how to feel about them. I used to make fun of them and the falsetto singing and the whole cheesy disco thing, but for some reason I kinda like listening to them lately. Got to thinking about them today when I watched Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake do the Barry Gibb Talk Show on SNL, which is one of my favorite SNL skits.

ah yes, once, i too made fun of the bee gees. waynes world had alot to do with it.

They had some talent, both as writers and producers as well as performing. Staying Alive is one of the best pop songs ever written, period.

Love the Bee Gee. It's way too cool to hate the Bee Gees, but when you see their entire career, and not just the disco years, you can't help but be impressed. The guys were such great song writers that when the radio rebelled against them, they had to write songs for other performers and those songs were the biggest hits in solid careers for people like Barbara Striesand, Dionne Warrick, and Kenny Rogers.
They changed styles several times in their career, as they adjusted to musics fluctuation. Nights on Broadway is a great jam. It's not the Brothers Gibbs' fault that they were so good at making disco hits. The radio and public were at fault for the over saturation of the Bee Gees.

I enjoy them for the distinctiveness of their sound, which really defines an era. But I just don't get into their songs anymore.

I'm not a huge fan of their style. However, recently I cam across a cover of their song I Started a Joke done by Faith No More that I think is really cool that got me the appreciate the original version. I think it's a really pretty song.
