My birthday is Saturday, and what did my awesome wife get me for my present??? Tickets to day 2 of the PBS taping of Season VI of Bluegrass Underground. Here is the lineup:
Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen
Mac Mcanally
Hurray for the Riff Raff
Dave Rawlings Machine
She knows that I'm a huge fan of Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings (along with Willie Watson)...so the day finishing off with the Dave Rawlings Machine great. I've never been to a show in Cumberland Caverns. I'm looking forward to seeing how the acoustics are in there. Has anyone on here ever caught a show there?

Never been, would love to go. Can't really think of anyone I'd rather see in that setting than David Rawlings Machine.

I caught them in Knoxville in November...one of the best shows I've ever seen. Looking forward to seeing them again.

You wife is awesome, and I don't mean that in the OT sense.

Nice gift. I like bluegrass but have not see this show on my local LPB station. Would definitely watch.

It was a lot of fun. The sets are pretty short...about 45 minutes to one hour per band. Dave was wearing out the Epiphone, and I always like hearing Willie Watson sing Keep it Clean. One of the surprises of the day for me was Mac McAnally. I had no idea how many songs that guy wrote that got a ton of airtime when I was in college.
The acoustics in the cave are awesome.
Here are some shots from the show...
