he's not the greatest singer ever but he isn't a pop singer so i'm not sure what the big deal is?

Being a big deal is all relative. In the grand scheme of things his out of tune growling is not a deal at all. In terms of what I choose to listen to it's so big of a deal it's a deal breaker. Glad you're able to enjoy him though.

objectively he is not "out of tune" and does not "growl" so both of those statements are inaccurate. does he have some amazing voice? no, but neither does conor oberst or bob dylan.

Look, maybe dude can belt it like Pavarotti and the problem lies within my ears. But to me he sings like shite. I have 2 of their albums in my collection and have tried somewhat to get into their (AA) music. It's ok, but in the end dudes voice ruins it for me. I understand musical preference is subjective. I just wanted to insult him and move on.

One of the most entertaining shows I've seen him do. Great crowd too. The story telling and banter were top notch.
