This is tough.

1. Paul McCartney
2. John Lennon
3. Bob Dylan
4. Bruce Springsteen
5. Paul Hewson
6. Paul Simon

Guess you need the name "Paul" to be a great songwriter.

Tough question. Paul Simon, Carole King, Neil young, and Bruce Springsteen would have to be in the conversation.

Was wondering when someone was going to mention him.

Sunday Morning Coming Down is probably the GOAT country song, IMO.

A couple others had I picked more than one would've been Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Sam Cooke, James Taylor, Robbie Roberston, John Fogerty, Jackson Browne, Jerry Garcia, just to name a few.

First of all, it's an impossible question to answer. It depends on too many variables.

I love VanZandt, Dylan, Lennon-McCartney, Prine, John Hiatt, Carol King, and more.

Also think Cole Porter and Johnny Mercer and were okay.

ROBERT JOHNSON. Even Dylan says so in his autobiography. Howling' Wolf is right up there too. Singers, songwriters, musicians, performers, the total package: Robert Johnson and Howling' Wolf.
