Blind is a great one that hasn't been mentioned.
Also a first song on their first record intro.

Pretty tough to top being 12 year old me, throwing Nevermind in the CD player for the first time, and getting strongly forced into puberty by the opening riff of Smells Like Teen Spirit.

My favorite recorded improvised intro is Yours Is No Disgrace from Yessongs.

The video version of Yessongs actually shows a different performance of the song. The intro is not as good as the album version but you can tell that they are just kind of winging it, having fun.

I’m going to comment again. I know it’s a fairly new song then most posted but:

Highly Suspect - My Name is Human

I love when he inhales and says OK and the beat drops.

Awesome choice. This song is amazing.

I'm gonna go with Coheed and Cambria- Welcome Home. Another good one that was mentioned here the other day is Warrant- Uncle Tom's Cabin.

I still shake my head at the fact that they went from this to We Built this City in just 4 years.

Every song from Metallica’s black album

No way. The 3 albums before that all had better opening track intros than anything off of that. Fight Fire With Fire, Battery, and Blackened.
