Heavy Metal is one of my favorite genres, it is a very intense form of music that has many different forms, and overall is just awesome music.

If you had to pick who you thought was the best metal singer of all time, who would you choose? I know it's hard to choose the "best" as the legends of metal are all legendary in their own right.

So if I had to pick one singer as my best of all-time, I would go with Rob Halford, best known as the lead singer of Judas Priest. Amazing vocalist with a scream that brought songs to their climax, and a stage presence that is second to none. Ozzy is a close second for my best metal singer of all time.

The more I think about it the stronger the case for Halford. He has a range few in the business even dream of.

Exactly. With his voice and the twin-attack lead guitar of Judas Priest, makes for some intense songs that paved the way for a lot of bands.

I'm a big fan of Phil and Dio also, Phil has that metal roar that helped make Pantera so aggressive and just plain awesome. Early in his career, he sounded a lot like Bruce Dickinson/Rob Halford, with the higher register screams of classic metal, but evolved as Pantera went along, his voice matching the increasing intensity of their sound.

Dickinson or Dio

(Except that Dio is dead, now) you can't go wrong with any of the three.
