Question:

Is that a slab of marble under your turntable? Anything special or just to isolate the turntable from whatever it's sitting on? I like the look of that.

Yes, it is a slab of granite with Vibrapod isolators underneath. It helps to isolate the turntable and dampen unwanted vibrations. Made quite a difference for me. I’d probably go a little thicker on the slab than what I have here.

That is in the backlog my brother, the only album I’ve purposely selected in the past few months was isbell. The rest I’ve randomly selected from this stack...

Appreciate it. Do you have them paired with a sub? I’m only pushing 25w so I’m not sure that will drive these enough. - btw which cables are those and do you like them?
I need new cables too.

Nominal impedance is 6ohm...and small speakers are usually less efficient than larger ones. 25wpc is barely enough to turn it to 5, so you can forget about turning it to 11.

Here is the sub. My setup is fairly modest by this board’s standards, but probably better than what 80% of the people out there are running.

As always these things are works in progress and what I have now may be replaced or repurposed at some point in the future.

Marco, yes the vintage pioneer is in the bedroom. Any suggestions for speakers sub $300 for a quieter listening room - I mean we’ll turn it up but also listen to jazz.

The original release of thIs is one of the worst things I’ve ever heard sound-wise, just stupid brickwalled and clipped to all hell. A total abomination. This 2012 Chris Bellman cut is a huge improvement and makes this great album somewhat enjoyable.

So........does it bang? Had a chance to swap for it, but decided on something else. I'm regretting the decision

Also, did you go with the White Stripes for this month?

Yes, and yes. I do swap from time to time but I really think they’ve only really missed the mark once or twice. I wish they’d reissue guy Clark’s old no 1 and toadies rubberneck.
