Yes, the rack pictured is the one I built. The maple shelves were built and cut at a custom woodworking shop in old downtown Covington
Care to share the dimensions of the rack? Looks great!

The shelves are 2" thick--maple.
The wood shop built a maple multiple-ply board that was 20"x96"x2". The 8' length was then cut into (2) 24" wide and (1) 48" wide shelves, which are the 3 you see in the rack.
They also lathed in the corners, and top and bottom bevels on the wood, and also drilled the 1.25" holes for the threaded rod.
If you dont want a wide shelf in the middle, you can cut the board into (4) 24" wide shelves. The threaded rods (4) are 36" long and use Acme thread.
I want to say the hardware, all from Fastenal, was around $375, and the wood totaled around $400.
So for around $800 and some elbow grease, you can easily build an extremely heavy, sturdy, pretty nice looking, infinitely adjustable, custom cut, custom beveled rack that can support 500+ lbs.---not too bad considering the similar rack which Mapleshade Audio sells is around $2000 (theirs is a little bit more refined, however).

Marco, what equipment do you have in the shelves behind your couch on the left?
The lower section of gear resting atop the granite is an Emotiva 200w amp, which powers the 4 Polk Atrium speakers for the backyard/pool, on top of that is a Furman power filter, on top of that is the Motorola cable box for the poolside TV, on top of that is an Araknis 16 port PoE switch, on top of that is the wireless router and a Sonos connect for the backyard system.
The static McIntosh gear above is the C500 2 chassis preamp and D100 DAC from the old system--they were replaced with a C1100 preamp and D1100 DAC.

Made a few changes to the smaller rig...
...I added a McIntosh MPC1500 power regulator/filter (at the bottom) and the Nakamichi CR-7A cassette deck (under the turntable) and swapped the Pro-Ject Debut table for the Denon DP-62L table.
I also added a Paradigm SW1000 subwoofer (to the right of the right speaker). It really doesn't need much more bump on the low end, but I had this sub sitting in a closet, so I figured I would hook it up. I crossed it over pretty low--50Hz. The Zu Audio single source full range 10" drivers will go exceptionally deep on their own.
This little system really sounds fantastic sitting 6'-7' back in a chair. Don't let the size fool you--it fills the room loudly with just 14 watts of power from 60 year old amplifiers!
On now...one of my favorite NOLA bands--The Iguanas...

Video in the house!!
The Sony 4K projector, so far, looks pretty good, but I have only played a part of Life of Pi 4K and a Grateful Dead Blu-Ray disc. HD cable from Cox looks pretty good as well considering it is a 110" screen.
A couple shots with the lights dimmed...
The folks from Uptown Audio come out tomorrow to complete all calibration of video and HT audio, complete all macro key programming for Control4 automation system, and finish up all other small items.
By tomorrow evening, I should be totally finished--it's been a long 8 months since I began this project.

Very nice! Any idea of what the first play will be once it's 100% finished?

I'm looking to get my very first turntable soon. I don't want anything fancy or expensive. My brother has gotten into vinyl in the last year and has built up an impressive collection already. He has recommended the Audio Technica AT-LP60BK ($99 - Amazon) as a good starter. I have a basic 15 year old Sony stereo receiver that has served me well.
What are your thoughts on the turntable? What else would you recommend to get started?

You have to start with a budget...do you have a limit for what you want to achieve?
