He is man... give it a couple days in this thread. There are several folks in here who can kind of lead you as well. Marco is just to most knowledgeable and is a solid dude.
What kind of budget are you working with?

I already have a solid receiver. So I'm just looking for speakers. I'd like to keep it around $1,000. Either looking for the 3.1 setup or my friend has shown me their Sonos sound bar and that sounds good. I like the look of the klipsch RF-26 floor standing speakers and a klipsch center speaker but in worried that's too much for an apartment

SVS Prime Center...$350
SVS Prime bookshelf...$499/pr.
If you want to add a sub down the line, SVS has about 15 different models to chose from.
If you don't mind a small scratch, they have a bunch of "scratch and dent" models--the ones that come back from their 45 day trial from careless customers.

Great thanks! So you recommend a center and bookshelf speakers over a center and floor standing? Also is klipsch garbage for a room that size?

Marco:
What do you think of the Wharfedale brand?
The reason I ask is, I have a pair of Diamond 10.7 floor standing speakers and the tweeters have gone out in them. Do you think they're worth repairing? I bought them used for $120.00 about 10 years ago.

Wooly...I will always recommend a floorstander over bookshelves, but it sounded like you wanted a center and L+R, which will put you over $1000...now if you wanna spend $1300, move on up to floorstanding speakers.
SVS is a great value for the money. I like Focal, but they may be a little more.

I think I'll splurge and go for floor standing and center. Thanks!

hogcard1964,
I don't know much about Wharfedale except they have been around a while. I believe their current offerings fall into the "entry to mid-fi" level. I have yet to ever see them at any of the audio shows.
Most speaker manufacturers (Focal is an exception), do not make their drivers in-house...they are outsourced to people like SEAS or ScanSpeak. Those companies make something along the lines of 60% of all raw speakers...in fact, they even make drivers for numerous $100k+ loudspeakers, but they make the speaker special according to that manufacturers design and specs.
Take out your blown/broken driver and call Parts Express...they probably have a damn near exact match...if not, try ScanSpeak or SEAS.
It may cost you $30-$50 for a pair of new tweets.

Klipsch's upper line and "Best Buy" line are two different animals. I have never been a big fan of their speakers...that's not to say they aren't a good speaker (the upper lines), but not my cup of tea. They are horn speakers, so best driven with low power--preferably tubes.

Shelves are looking nice!
Update on my Odyssey of, to anyone who is following along:
1) Klaus is the man. The absolute man. I call and bother him probably too much. He received my old amp 2 weeks ago. He said he was dropping a new board in the old chassis and getting it back to me. I misunderstood him to mean he was sending it out in 2-3 days, and he did 2-3 day shipping the last time, so I gave him a call for the tracking number and to make sure we didn't lose this thing in the mail. Turns out the new board is still on the burn-in rack and will go out this evening or tomorrow.
2) He tells me he dropped in a few upgrades "From (him) to (me)." 100% unsolicited. At every point possible when he apologizes I say something to the effect of how it's no big deal at all, I've read nothing but great things about him and had nothing but a good experience this whole time through.
He really is a great guy. I can't wait to get this thing back and hear it. I had even sent him my cables last time, so I'm actually without a stereo for about 3 weeks now (still have my center and rears working, so I'm watching TV but haven't spun a record in far too long)

Hey Marco,
Can you recommend me a cartridge / needle combo for my Marantz 6300? I'm not looking to spend a ton of money...budget is about $100.
