Not sure if he was credited, but Robert Smith played on a lot of Siouxsie and the banshees songs

I have to salute anyone who would mention The Easybeats in a thread like this

Nope.

The opening riff is he and Eric Clapton trading licks. He also plays some slide later in the song.

Don't think any of the Beatles played on "No Matter What". Paul McCartney wrote "Come and Get it" and gave it to Badfinger in 1969, and it became a hit. McCartney also played percussion on Badfinger's version and all the instruments on his own version.

Godfather1 is correct. Duane Allman played lead and slide guitar on Layla.

Before reading the thread, my money is on Jimmy Page as the leader in the clubhouse.

Edit: For example:

Roy Harper - The Same Old Rock

Jeff Beck played on ZZ Tops Rough Boy. He performed it only once live with the band and that was in London.

Didn't Clapton play on My Sweet Lord and a number of songs from All Things Must Pass?

I do think his playing on While My Guitar Gently Weeps is my favorite solo ever, period. And Duane's playing in Mountain Jam at Ludlow Garage is a close second...but I'm addicted to that song right now, anyway. My favorite version.

You need to Google prince while my guitar gently weeps- then note how you now have a new favorite guitar solo.
