As long as it is just a request, I see no problem with it. If it is actually enforced (which I can't imagine it will be), then I think it is absurd.

What's wrong with showing up in fricking pajamas if I'm paying good money? Good thing I'm not a fan of these tools.

They won a Grammy bro. That means they have to be a great band.

Heady has admitted not really listening to Arcade Fire in the past, so he's trolling.

Anyone else in here who doesn't like them, I'd love to hear whether you've given them a try. Potentially one of the best rock bands of their generation.

They did this same thing for their smaller shows. God forbid they try to have a little fun.

They'll be at Jazz Fest too, btw. Sources are confirming this to me.

some of it is pretentious, but winn butler is a pretty good songwriter.

and their live show is pretty incredible.

I gave them enough chances. That album with "Neighborhoods" and "Tunnels" or whatever is the most overrated work of the 00's.

I really loved Funeral and have liked the other records a lot... That said, for some reason, I have no interest in the new record... may have to do with the association with james murphy...

I think the request is silly, but fair play to them... if mandatory, then I think it is down right absurd..

Either way, I probably will never go to another one of their shows so it doesnt effect me (unless they play Jazz Fest) and Ive been blown away each and everytime Ive seen them...

Perhaps they will be filming a DVD during the tour and want the crowd shots to have some semblace of continuity if they include songs from different shows into one collection

Not saying this isn't snobby as fuuuuck but Arcade Fire did just post this FB:

"To everyone really upset about us asking people to dress up at our shows… please relax. It's super not mandatory. It just makes for a more fun carnival when we are all in it together. So far these have been the best shows we have ever played.
See you soon.
Love,
Arcade Fire"

So, at least theres that?

Still assholes. Good music, unfortunately made by shitty people. Lots of talented people are shitty, and these guys are both super talented and super-assholes. Kinda makes it karmically ok to illegally download their music. frick these guys.

Wasn't there a dress code for The Band's "Last Waltz?" Not an entire tour but just a somewhat similar example.

I would actually consider buying a ticket for a Juggalo if we could get this going.
