Listened to the first two songs. This album may be a grower. No opinion yet, other than it sounds completely different from other albums, par for the course with AM.

Definitely seems a lot more mellow so far

It sounds like an Alex Turner poetry book on top of space jazz. Think I'll put on WPSIATWIN and FWN on repeat to get this new record sadness out of my brain.

Definitely different

Not what I was hoping for but I'll give it a chance

Four out of five is catchy as hell. Arctic Monkeys never make the same album twice. I like it but I wish it had a little more rock sound in it.

Hopefully this will grow on me. I appreciate they evolve I remember not quite getting Humbug at the time and now really like it too.

Yeah I'd like something a little more upbeat

But it's not radiohead mellow bad

I actually really like the intro track Star Treatment

Not exactly highway cruising music but it's good for relaxing

1st listen - not a fan. It sounds like lyrics were his number 1, 2 and 3 priority and he was going to shoe horn them in at whatever cost.

This sounds like David Bowie ala Young Americans sort of. Am liking this a lot, and I don’t know much of arctic monkeys stuff.

They're usually a lot more intense

For the polar opposite of this album I'd give Favourite Worst Nightmare a listen

It's one of my favorite albums to rock on a road trip

I concur, I get a big thin white duke vibe.

I’ve been realy digging the Last shadow Puppets and Mini Mansions lately. This sounds like a big mixture of those styles, yet a new style all its’ own. Throw in a little Ziggy Stardust too while you’re at it. This is definitely a different album.

I’ve listened to it about 12 times already. I’m liking it more and more each time. Say what you will, but Alex Turner sure is a talented songwriter. I really don’t think there’s any way a music fan can deny that.

2nd through (lost count) - This is a really damn good album. ha. I guess I was expecting AM2. When I put my mind in the moon lounge, you don't want to leave, and all the songs stick with you throughout the day.

Criminally underrated album of the 00s. Absolutely fantastic.

2nd listen was much better than the first after knowing what to expect. Completely agree on the Bowie comparisons. I like the rock-oriented style of FWN and AM better, but this album is growing on me.
