Ive always enjoyed listening to recorded live shows more than albums, not sure why the music sounds better to me and I love the different variations of some of the songs live.

I did a free trial of youtube premium recently and that shite is incredible for listening to live shows.

I would rather just pull up a concert of a favorite band than an album and this point when driving, at the house, etc.

Anyone else like this?

Khruangbin sounds better live. Most likely because they literally record in a barn.

same, I enjoy the music better for some reason.

Almost like an album is too sterile, I cant really put my finger on it. I still listen to albums but live shows kick arse.

I enjoy so little live music. It's actually starting to piss me off with XM sneaking live stuff in on normal stations. I can count on one hand how many live versions I prefer to studio.

you talking about actually seeing bands live as well?

I dont know how you can not like live music, thats what a band is really.

Yep, I'm currently using YouTube premium on a free trial and I definitely am watching more live shows than not. Been jamming some serious Zepplin and Stones lately

I'm with you. I love live music and the energy a crowd adds.

Plus after you've heard the same album version a few thousand times the thrill is gone. Live adds variety.

I do it with certain bands. Ted Nugent’s ‘Double Live Gonzo’ & Aerosmith’s ‘Live! Bootleg’ are so good/superior IMO to their recorded albums that I always go to them first. So much energy in those recordings.

KISS ‘Alive II’ is another one, but I think most of it was recorded in a studio.

anyone remember that giant torrent site called dimeadozen?
it was a huge trove of torrents of live bootlegs. pretty much covered all genres. everything from professional to mic recordings. I must've pulled hundreds of shows off that thing.

Depends on the band but I do tend to prefer the sound of a live album over a studio one. The drums on live albums are so much satisfying to hear

exactly, I can hear the instruments better, especially the bass.

Not sure why that is.

Pretty much. I mean, I have enjoyed many a concert, but I would not have if outside just hearing the band play.

And I don't understand why people like it live. Different strokes I guess. I mean, if that's what the band really is, they should cut every record live in one take with no mixing or producer.

I enjoy watching live performances on YouTube. Radio stations like KEXP have an awesome studio.

Live is the way, and always has been, for me.

Getting on the GD Bus at 60 has been a godsend!

I miss going to Red Dirt concerts & buying the $5 immediately burned CD of the show. Those years in the 00s were the golden era of this.
