May wanna start a thread on the O-T or Outdoor boards. Would get more exposure.

Maybe try one on the Outdoor board line: "Best Fishing Experiences in Lake Ponchartrain."

You just described 90% of my high school weekends.

OP - some of my best memories are growing up along the lake.

Rode 10 billion miles on the bike trail - bikes and skateboards.

There was a little park across from Homestead where a guy named Walter had collected all the junk from the lake and made a little decorated park out of it, complete with a driftwood bench - Walter's Park

Spent many days jumping off the Bonnabel boat launch and swimming in the lake. Got to see Al Copeland launch the Popeye's boat from there a few times. Nothing is more awesome to a bunch of 12 year olds than watching a jet powered boat full of hot women take off across the lake at 150 mph.

Scooped up and made pets out of many a turtle from there.

Pop worked at the old lakefront airport before they built MSY. He still knew a few guys that worked out there and I got dragged along a few times to go listen to them BS. One of them took me driving on the runway which was cool.

Ponchartrain Beach was awesome, google it.

Slop football games on the levee after a good soaking rain, shirts vs skins. Had to stop and hose off on the way home so mom didn't have a shite fit about us being covered from head to toe in mud and grass. Cold arse faucet water.

Tons more, all personal memories not hard facts about the lake itself.

Adalida, pretty little Cajun queen
Sweet Dixie flower, the bell of the bayou
You're every young mans dream
Adalida, I'd walk through the hurricane
To stand beside ya sweet Adalida I'd swim the Ponchartrain
