Anybody have experience with the Michael Kelly guitars? I've never even come across one.

I've played a couple, never owned one. They're decent for the money, don't hold their value at all.

If I may be so bold, I notice that you buy guitars often. I can't tell if you're flipping them and using the same cash or you're accumulating them. My advice is to save your dollars and go high end. One fantastic guitar is better than a bunch of average to good guitars. It's tough to do, because the desire to get another guitar is almost always present. So much so, that I actively try to stay away from guitar related sites to remove temptation...not very well I have to admit.

I'm 61 and I'm starting to realize that my buying guitars phase of my life is coming to a close pretty soon. I'll probably buy one more extremely high end electric and be done. I have everything I need. I'll probably start whittling down the herd in a few years until I have the few left that I want to pass on. I have eight now...I plan to be down to 5 in a few years including the next one that I buy...I have some righteous gear, it's going to be hard to do.

But if you think guitars are bad...it's nothing compared to the monstrous black hole that is recording.

Mostly I accumulate them. I trade or sell one now and then. I have some high end electrics( crappy ones too) and a couple of really good acoustics( a lot of mediocre and crappy ones as well).
What I am looking for is 1 versatile guitar, for doing simple work demos, that I can plug straight in and get the right feel to support the tone of the vocal that I want to get across. Not making records, so perfect sound isn't the goal. What I do is very lyrically( and rhythm) oriented, it's just about getting that right ballpark tone. The pros can deal with getting it perfect. I'm not a singer, just pitching songs, but the closer I get to the sound that I want, the better I can sing it. That helps the real singer and pickers at the demo studio. They are really intuitive, but not mind readers.

I have two of them. I’m not really big into guitars and gotta have the best ones out there.

But I like them a lot. I would say they are comparable to high end epiphone and squire to low end fenders.
They do have some upgraded models with upgraded pickups

The Hybrid that I linked, seems like it may be able to do similar things to the Fender acoustasonic telly. I really like those, but it's just more money than I want to spend right now.
There's a Sam Ash store over at Atlanta that carries the Kelly guitars , which is a couple of hours from me. I might go try one out.

The Michael Kelly guitars I've had cross the bench were made in Korea, which means they are ghost-built by World Music/Samick's factory for MK. So they should be comparable to other WMIC guitars at their MSRP and street price points. Here's a short list of some WMIC comps from recent years, copied and pasted unedited from a Google search

Agile
BC Rich
Brian May Guitars
Chapman
Dean
Diamond/DBZ
Eastwood
Gretsch (Electromatics)
Guild (Newark St. models)
Ibanez (small number of models with W serial)
Line6
LTD
Michael Kelly Guitars
Ormsby (GTR line)
PRS SE (now mostly moved to Cor-Tek in Indonesia)
Schecter
Strandberg (until mid 2017)
Wylde Audio (sub-brand of Schecter)

That's exactly what I thought. Most of the stuff I have played from there has been decent, the Samick telecasters were pretty good, especially that Ray Benson one. It's like somebody else said " it doesn't hold value well", but it's not a factor in this instance. I love the idea of being able to mix the acoustic sound with a slight electric sound for some rhythm tracks, just using 1 guitar, and playing one time through.
I had one of the Dean acoustic/ electrics from there, that was a really good guitar, but I gave it to a girl who really needed a better guitar.

I agree mostly, but some of the Indonesian guitars are pretty good.
