Any way to make Apple Music shuffle actually random?

I have a playlist of 150+ songs I listen to while I’m hanging outside. Apple shuffle always shuffles to the same dozen or so songs. I guess the algorithm is saying I want that, however I actually want it to randomly shuffle to any of the songs in my playlist.
Anyway to make it more random?

I've had this problem no matter the platform: Apple, Amazon, Spotify...
Hoping someone here has a fix!

I don't think I've come across a music app that ever shuffled randomly. YouTube Music will play the same artist back to back to back when shuffling a large playlist.
The only thing I've tried that kind of works is starting the playlist with a random song. It seems to make the algorithm change things up a little.

According to my math major with grad degree daughters, no. no such thing as truly random, from an algorithm. YMMV

It’s super annoying, I wish there was a totally random setting.
One explanation I read that kind of makes sense is that when it’s is randomly shuffling it prioritizes songs that load fast. So a song that plays right away will get pushed to the front over a song that is going to buffer for a few seconds.

Make a playlist of the songs you want to hear. Shuffle that playlist.

You get the same problem, but with a smaller catalog to work through.

This is one of the reasons I still use my iPod where I can. When you choose shuffle, it only plays each song once.

This is exactly what I do but what I’m saying is it doesn’t shuffle randomly. It still shuffles primarily onto the same dozen or so songs and there are some songs in my playlist that almost never get picked.

That's true. Computers cannot generate pure randomness. Which is why companies that deal with encryption use novel ideas to try and randomize things.
Cloudflare uses a wall of lava lamps. As the lava lamp bubbles move, a video camera on the ceiling mirrors their changes to a computer, which converts the randomness into a code that's pretty much un-hackable.

I have a large playlist on Spotify and it seems very random to me. The more songs the more random shuffle I guess

My biggest Spotify playlist has about 2700 songs.
I can reliably predict what will play when I hit "shuffle."

Mine is around 1500 songs and I don’t have that problem

Don't put songs in the playlist that you don't want to hear. Make a playlist of the songs you want to hear that never get picked. This really is a first world problem of the day type of riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an iPod.

I have about 2k on a general Spotify playlist and it’s long been a common problem among subscribers.
One solution I’ve seen mentioned is to filter your playlist in various ways, such as alphabetically or newly added to old. If you keep starting the randomized play the same way, by pressing play on the same first song, you’re likely to keep getting similar “randomized” results.
