Several new ones have been recently listed here.

Billy Strings Band for their jams and the new Jerry Douglas Band with John Hiatt both sound good.

Not exactly rock, but Bella Fleck and the Flecktones, outstanding electric banjo, along with one of the top 2 or 3 greatest bass players on earth.

I’ll have to check that out. Going to California is my favorite song of all time.

Name the banjo and mandolin players in SCI.

(Hint: Michael Kang doesn’t play either. Neither does Bill Nershi. And that band has sucked since the 90’s.)

My mind was thinking violin—don’t know why...so remove SCI as a recommendation...my bad.

While their music may not be your cup of tea, they hardly “suck”...now my garage band on the other hand, well, we kinda suck.

Judah and the Lion is pretty good. More mandolin, though.
