Robert Smith already was starting to crank out the production/volume of material, and Disintegration kind of took the cake (the previous album was still charting and quite recent).
Disintegration was a WATERSHED album, any way you want to slice and analyze it, it stands integral and pristine.
Most thought the pumping out of material post Integration was unnecessary, especially seeing as how the bar had been set so high.
There was alot of fluff, and Bloodflowers somehow made it out of the chaff, you're right.

Smith has said that Bloodflowers is sort of the 3rd piece in a trilogy of sorts with Pornography and Disintegration.

Disintegration is perfect music on a rainy day.
Bloodflowers is the first album I usually put on after taking off in a jet. There's something charming about looking out over the clouds while listening to Out of this World.

Man, I guess it only seemed like that shite was coming out every year and a half (upon researching, I admit there was better spacing than I thought, although you'll see below those which I have bolded, obviously reinforce my imaginary production profusion).
Anyway, they've got five primo albums IMO.

You're right. I didn't really pay much attention to them until Head on the Door (which forced me to buy Standing on the Beach).
Three Imaginary Boys was a big deal, probably because I was so young.
The post Disintegration period just seemed like they were flogging away constantly to no avail. I don't know, must have been doing some good drugs or something.

It's not that I didn't listen to them I just couldn't get into Wish that much even though I like Letter to Elise. I never did give them a fair shot after that. But I should take a hard listen to Bloodflowers only b/c you just hyped it.

Definite fan here although i do enjoy their more upbeat stuff more than the dreary slow stuff. I listened to galore last week. Tomorrow I'll give blood flowers a try.
