They'd have to be blind to think otherwise.

You guys are making me see Healey in a new light.

You've certainly opened my eyes.

He obviously practiced his minor pentatonic Braille.

I thought he played by sense of smell.....

If you are dead, are you considered still blind or can you see the light? Always wondered this about Healey.

He has some of the best fretboard vision of any guitarists of that era.

Just how long is this list? I can make a list long enough that Mick Jagger would be one of the best guitarists of the rock era.

We have different standards.
quote:Really? What in particular? 80-% of what Page plays is standard variations on pentatonic blues scales. Anybody copying Page is merely copying the people Page copied. There's absolutely nothing original there, and Healey is the superior player within that genre.

Do you play?
quote:There are thousands of artists who are better draftsmen than Pablo Picasso. Are they better artists within the genre than Picasso? I feel the same way about Jimmy Page and Jeff Healey. Page has a creative spark that Jeff Healey never had, and it is obvious to even casual listeners.

I am with you, while there are a zillion more technically competent players than Page, none have created the instantly recognizable riffs that Page has. Keith Richards is in that group, he may be just a capable player in the vein of Chuck Berry, but he created tons of great hooks and riffs, how many Stone's songs can be instantly identified by the first 3 notes of the song. That is what separates a guitar player from an artist.
