Which ones do y'all use and do you stay in it all the time?
I had to get a new Tuner after 16 years. My old Tuner showed only EAGBDE.I got a Snark for $14.It identifies every note that comes out of the guitar,I guess.
I didn't realize for a week that I wasn't in Standard.
I think it was D# on the 6th and 4th string. It sounded good.I played it tuned that way at my weekly set at the Assisted Living Facility.
I'm back in Standard now but am curious other tunings.
Thanks.

I really like to mess around in DADGAD a bit,it's great for an Irish Folk sound.
If I am doing slide stuff, open G,D,and open Em tunings usually work Ok for me.
Some songs I like to be tuned down 1/2 step,to make it easier for me to sing or play.I have a guitar that always stays tuned this way. I never use a capo.
Some people don't like to try this stuff, they think it isn't good for the guitar. It doesn't hurt the guitar at all.
I think it's good to try different tunings, because it requires you to think a lot about where notes are, instead of just playing by ingrained memory.
also, props to you,for going by and brightening up the lives of the old folks. I know they are glad when you come by...even if you're a little out of tune

So you play in front of people but only had a tuner for standard?
A. I am doing this backwards.
B. There is hope for me too.
I play in any dipshit tuning I find on YouTube.
DADGAD, EBDGAD Crosby, open G (all Stones I think), Rain song tuning?
You have more ability than me. Hell I am only confusing myself and muddying the waters with all those tunings.

I mostly stay in standard or drop D.
But I love going into "Jerry tuning" (D-G-D-E-B-D) to play Steeplechase Lane whenever I'm changing strings. Written by Jerry Reed but Chet Atkins played it so well.

I wish. Nearly every song I know is in a different tuning. I spend more time tuning than I do playing sometimes.
Here are some of them:
DADGAD - as long as you stick to frets 2, 4, 5, 7 & 9, everything you play sounds Celtic. I play The South Wind in this tuning. Also Kashmir is in DADGAD. The nice thing about this is that it's only a half-step on the G string from open D.
EADGCF - this is standard tuning except the top two strings are up a half step. This means that all the strings are a perfect 4th from each other. It avoids that awkward 4 fret gap between the G & B. The only song I know in this tuning is The Bricklayer's Beautiful Daughter by William Ackerman.
Open D (or E) - This is a popular tuning for blues. Duane Allman and Derek Trucks both play(ed) almost exclusively in open E. Couple of examples are Little Martha and Echoing Gilewitz.
CACGCE - You could call this C6 I guess but it's not the same as the steel guitar version of C6 (CEGACE). Bron-yr-Aur is in this tuning.
C#AC#G#AE - This is by far the weirdest one I know of. I suppose it's Open Amaj7? I usually drop it by a half-step so that I don't have to tune the G string up. Probably the only song you'll ever find in this tuning is The Impending Death of the Virgin Spirit. I don't know how Will Ackerman survived before clip-on tuners.

Thanks for all the info.
I feel like I have some homework now.
I'm looking forward to some experimentation.

There is no tuning that is better to mess around with and pretend to be good than Open D.

I keep one of mine in Open G6: DGDGBE
It's absolutely the tuning I play in the most.

Also, for tuners, there is a free tuner for Android that works really well, Guitar Tuna

Drop D, standard, DADAD or 1/2 step down.

Open E is fun. All flats (E-flat) is also great for playing along to a lot of the classic "unplugged" stuff.

This is the tuning that Stanley Jordan uses for the 2-hand tapping method - apparently, the chord shapes (different from the ones we know, of course) are the same all over the fretboard, so it's "easier" if you do it that way from the start.

I could see that. The shape 3-2-0 on any 3 consecutive strings is a major triad. E.g., x320xx is C, xx320x is F, etc. And then x542xx would be D. x764xx is E and so on.
