Because it's a medium-sized town on the way from New Orleans to Texas. Pretty simple. Take what you can get.
And it's always been this way. Not just the last several years.

The point he was making is that the majority of the "big" acts that come to BR play in the middle of the week. Which is true. There are obviously exceptions.

i agree that varisty has pulled big name shows and i have thoroughly enjoyed just about every concert ive been to there.
i was just wondering why the lack of weekend shows. ill still be at the wednesday night red dirt tour,as i get older its increasingly harder to make a mid week show.
