Alabama (the band)

Thinking of going to their show July 5th in orange beach. Anyone seem em? I'm not even the slightest fan of country music but I am familiar with several of their songs and do enjoy beer and live music in a beach atmosphere

They did a lot for moving country in the direction it is heading now, IMO. Not a fan, but I'd go if I could just because it would be an awesome time.

I will be there. I am a fan of country music but cannot stand some of the crap that is being passed off as country today. Its great to see real country music played to its perfection.

My thoughts exactly. I don't get what the earlier poster was talking about. Like "Play me some mountain music" has directly lead us to "Joe Diffie, Joe Diffie, Joe Diffie".

Saw them in Atlanta in May after seeing them 3 times on the Farewell Tour in 2003/2004.
This tour is much smaller - smaller venues, shorter setlists. Played most of the big hits (Mountain Music, Tennessee River, Dixieland Delight, Song of the South, My Home's in Alabama) and the classic ballads (Feel's So Right, Lady Down on Love). Also through in a few of the later hits - Dancing on the Blvd, Angels Among Us.
They seem to be having a good time with it, we were about 8-10 rows back and you could see in their faces they were having a good time. I think the time off + less dates + no band issues = them enjoying the music again.
I think it would certainly be worth it to go.
