Am I the only one who thinks they suck? I don't get it and I feel like the frat boys who told me kings of Leon rocked think its cool and trendy to like these guys

The frick kind of frat guys are you hanging out with? Alabama Shakes and Kings of Leon? Those are NF as frick. By any standard.

I love the Alabama Shakes fwiw. It's a travesty to compare them to Kings of Leon

When they first came out I was like damn this is pretty cool. That dude has got a unique voice. Then a short time later I realized that dude was actually Madea. Then I was like, oh, ok, that's cool too. Went ahead and downloaded the album. Not bad. Then I heard Hold On for the 1,300 time and it was over. No more Alabama Shakes for me. Unless their sophmore effort is something remarkable. And they fire Madea. She now gets on my nerves and I liked her better when she was a dude.

So because they are played on the radio a ton, you dislike them?
I honestly don't understand this thread. The shakes are a great soul rock band.
Their new song always alright is fantastic.

they've got a handful of tunes i really enjoy. i don't listen to the radio so i haven't heard hold on 1300 times, though

Nah thedoc, I just got tired of them pretty quick. Never said they suck or anything. Just stating my current opinion of the Shakes. Obviously you are of a differing opinion. Lucky for me I couldn't care less about your opinion.
