Add a song or band to STigers Spotify playlist so he can stop listening to crappy bands...

Title pretty much says it all. Dude we get it. You like the Cure, Smith's, D Mode, Morrissey and all that depressing Britpop/Goth/Post-Punk stuff. We really do get it. But we don't need a thread reminding us of some obscure band fact about them every other day. As I said to you weeks ago, there are other bands out there. You should try listening to them too...

That being said, it's a free country and musical tastes are subjective. Listen to what you want to.

I listen to a lot of different bands. But I do have certain taste.
I post about The Cure on purpose now cause I know yall hate it.

This thread just reminded me of a story from a long time ago. Once upon a time I was in the local library checking out CD's. There were to kids there that looked to be freshmen or sophomores in High School. One of them found a Journey CD and they were REALLY excited about it. "Dude, I'm totally getting this one." Even though I'd heard it 1,000 times, I was holding a copy of Iggy Pop's "Raw Power" in my hand. I looked at the kids and handed it to them and said, "Take this home. Go to your room. Put this on. Turn it up to 11. And no matter what your parents say, don't turn it off until it's over. You'll thank me in 10 years."
They looked at me like I was crazy

If you like the Cure then listen to Fontaines DC. They channel the cure and several other 80s bands. I'm going to see them in a couple of weeks.

I like Journey and have about 30 or so of their songs in the 20,000+ selections in my music collection. BUT, as this thread is a testament to, one of my raison d'etre is folks should experience all sorts of music. And that's a 2 way street. That's why I like coming to this forum. To find out about songs/bands I didn't know about. Very seldom have I found a really cool song/band on my own. 90% of the time it was someone else that introduced me to it, "Hey dude, check this out..."
The kids could have hated it. That would have been cool too. As I said in post #2, "musical tastes are subjective". But now they can say they've heard a classic...
