My contribution would be a band called Without Gravity. They've got a couple songs that have a kind of haunting feel to them. Give "Waterfalls" a listen for a taste.

Michael Jackson's voice didn't floor me generally, but I have to give a shout out to "Man in the Mirror". I'm not sure if I've heard a better single-song vocal performance. Slays me.
When I was a little kid and this song would come on MTV, I would run from whereever I was in the house to the TV on which I heard the song playing; turn it up as loud as it would go; and stand frozen and captivated right next to the TV until the song was over.
