It was more to bring attention to the fact that Lennon himself was a hipster faux intellectual.

Meh, talented perfectionists usually create memorable, enduring works. He has created neither.

26. Trent Reznor on Marilyn Manson
“A malicious guy [who] will step on anybody’s face to succeed, and cross any line of decency.”

Interesting because they often get lumped together by people talking about music in the 90s

Well Trent Reznor produced a lot of Manson's early stuff in the 90s.

John Lennon kinda seems like he was a bit of a douche. I get why he didn't want to work with Paul but did he have to write songs about how much he think Paul sucks? Did Paul write any songs about how awful John was?

Ringo thought so....

Go!

Back off boogaloo,
I said, back off boogaloo,
I said, back off boogaloo, boo.

Back of boogaloo,
What d'yer think i'm gonna do?
I got a flash right from the start.

Wake up, meat head,
Don't pretend that you are dead,
Get yourself up off the cart.

Get yourself together now
And give me something tasty.
Ev'rything you try to do,
You know it sure sounds wasted.

Back off boogaloo,
I said, back off boogaloo.

You think you're a groove,
Standing there in your wallpaper shoes
And your socks that match your eyes.

Back off boogaloo,
I said, back off boogaloo,
Come on, back off boogaloo, boo.

Get yourself together now
And give me something tasty.
Ev'rything you try to do,
You know it sure sounds wasted.

Back off boogaloo,
What d'yer think i'm gonna do?

Back off boogaloo,
I said, back off boogaloo,
Come on, back off boogaloo, boo.

Back off boogaloo,
I said, back off boogaloo,
Come on, back off boogaloo, boo.

Back, ba-ba-ba-back!

Back off boogaloo,
I said, back off boogaloo,
Come on, back off boogaloo, boo.

Back off boogaloo,
I said, back off boogaloo,
Come on, back off boogaloo, boo.

Back, back, ba-ba-back, come on!

Back off boogaloo,

Starr also reiterated this story in 1998 on VH1 Storytellers.[1] The middle 8 was inspired by presenter Jimmy Hill.[1] This would contradict a popular legend that 'Boogaloo' was a nickname for Paul McCartney.[1]

From Wiki

Doesn´t mean shite. The wallabies or hush puppies (wallpaper shoes in this cut and paste), were a habitual reference to McCartney.

I think Ringo just wanted to guarantee his future (that of he and Barbara Bach), what with Paul still being alive and all, and rectified.
