I miss that era of music so much. Look at the wasteland that is commercial music today.

More and more each day.

Me and a couple buds went to Houston for the Clash of the Titans tour on May 19, 1991. I'd never heard of AIC, but one of the guys had just bought Facelift, and we listened to it the whole way to Houston and back to B.R. By the time the trip was through, I was hooked big time.

At the end of the year, on December 7, 1991, I saw AIC blow Van Hagar off the stage at the Centroplex on the F.U.C.K. tour. Dinosaur rock was dead at that point.

We were all so beyond done with the hair metal scene. We'd gotten turned onto Janes Addiction and had seen them just a month before on Feb 15, 1991 at the Municipal Auditorium in New Orleans. You could tell there was magic in the air for a sea change in popular music. Holy shite, what a great time it was to be a fan of rock 'n roll.

Oh Yeah,

Was robbing the cradle when she introduced me to AIC (and Jane's Addiction).... so that makes me geriatric now.

Brand new album, Rainier Fog, releases tomorrow. The three songs released off of it so far are very reminiscent of their sound on Dirt.

I had a very similar experience out on the east coast in Virginia 98-92. Being in the military I was surrounded by people from all over the country and they had their friends and family (as I did) sending them mix tapes (lol yes cassettes) of all the newest music and bands on the verge of exploding. It really was a great time for music. The shite they put out today and the zombies that lap it up have no idea of when real powerful generational music is.
