Who feels old now? This guy.. Damn that album was fun in High school. The song “Doggy Dogg World” highly underrated .

Edit. Ok it was realeased in late 93’ but guess thought it was 94’ based on when we finally started hearing the songs released on the radio and when I actually bought the CD.

Doggystyle is a top ten rap album of all time. There's so much quality on that album.

Snoop was still invested in rapping, Dre was at the height of his G Funk power...it's basically a sequel to the Chronic, which is another top ten rap album.

IMO it's Snoop's only good album. It's a GOAT rap album though. Nothing he did after that can hold a candle to Doggystyle. Yet he's still relevant. I guess those big hits here and there helped over the years.

Snoop has other good albums, but they have a lot of filler and some good songs.

Doggystyle is no filler, only classics. He got a lot more inconsistent after that, but I like some of his other albums. I just have to skip half the tracks.

Hah. Well maybe I should have said "great"? I didn't like his follow-up, Doggfather. I liked his debut album with No-limit when it came out, but man, most of the No-Limit stuff (from all their artists) hasn't aged well for me.

Yeah, I mean, I don't really disagree. The quality is nowhere near Doggystyle.

I can enjoy No Limit sound, but it is super dated and a lot of the beats sound very similar.

Every Snoop album other than Doggystyle should be 8 tracks long. At that length, they'd be great, but they're all 18-20 tracks with a lot of throwaways.

Snoop D-O-double-G is still relevant today because he's a Cool Azz MF'er that walked away from the gangsta lifestyle. After witnessing many of his friends ending up in body bags or going to prison for life, he said F that SHite, I'm outta here.

Snoop relates to most of the male population because he's an avid sports fan that loves him some blunts.

It was the golden era of rap. Great stuff.

He's kind of a model citizen now.

Gives back to the community, mentors kids, hell...he was even coaching his kids football team. And he's tight with Martha Stewart, who coincidentally is more of a criminal than he ever was.

Yep. 93-95 had Snoop, Dre, 2Pac, Biggie, Wu Tang and Outkast launching their careers with classics.

I was 12-14 at the time and that time period is why I got into rap. So much good stuff.

I was a huge fan as a teen and own it on vinyl. Thought I was a rap fan, turns out I'm just a 70s r&b,funk, soul fan.

Ripoff previously released catchy melodies, hooks, choruses= successful rap album.
