When I first started listening to them back in 2011 or so I thought they were awesome. Then they started getting airplay and became very formulaic.

However, they put on a kickass live show. I've seen them four times opening for other groups and have never been disappointed.

I like them but my 10 year old's obsession with them has kind of ruined it for me. Also seems to be a heavy overlap between TOP fans and Panic at the Disco fans among teenagers, which is disturbing.

I think everyone on the MB would like them a little more after watching one of their live shows. I'll be checking them out for a 2nd time tomorrow night at Hangout

I think I had that hat back when I lived in Colorado around 2000.

General apathy mixed in with some loathing, especially considering their main fanbase is 13yo girls and angsty teens.

I'm a big fan though and look beyond the pop.

Although the music is catchy, the message and lyrics have depth. Struggles with depression, faith, suicide, music industry are common topics.

If you've only heard Blurryface songs - Heavydirtysoul, Stressed Out, Ride, Lane Boy - you need to check out Vessel. If you don't get songs like Car Radio and Trees, then you'll likely never enjoy them. Then digging deeper into Addict with a pen and Forest, etc.

And as stated above, they put on a great show. Caught them at SKC with my family a few months back.

Yeah... I sometimes worry about the lyrics "inspiring" my kids.

My 9 year old walks around singing, "Death inspires me like the dog inspires the rabbit."

Jesus. Come on bruh.

I would assume you're a better parent than have your 9 yr old only exposed to one line in a song without any other context or exposure.

Jesus. Come on bruh. is right.

Sorry... I shouldn't have been so obtuse. I'm not actually disturbed by my kid singing that lyric and am pretty confident (as we've discussed it) that he takes it as a carpe diem message. That being said, I just thought it was funny to mention that he sings that lyric (and raps the shite out of other lyrics from TOP) quite often. It's just weird to have your 9 year old singing that around the house.

That being said, I grew up in a house that burned Hotel California records when a traveling evangelist told my parents that it was satanic... so I've always tried to NOT raise my kids in that sort of avoidance/censoring environment.

They have a semi-Mutemath inspired type sound. ToPx MM did a collaboration not too long ago, you can find it on Youtube, it's pretty cool
