Can't believe it's been 20 years. Blind Melon Singer Shannon Hoon Dead At 28

A new documentary based on his 200+ hours of recorded footage himself was recently fully funded on Kickstarter ( Shannon Hoon Film)that should be pretty cool to watch.

Anyways, what's your favorite Blind Melon song/performance? Hard to beat Change (Live on Letterman - 1994)

Speedball I think. Coke and heroin. I was living in NO at the time and had planned to see the show at Tips.

Somebody mentioned a speedball but if I'm not mistaken it was a cocaine overdose by smoking too much crack. He hadn't been taking care of himself and didn't have the stamina to deal with the amount he was using.

Tones of Home

Saw Blind Melon early 1995 with my older brother. One of the best shows I went to as a kid.

I thought so. Funny how we are all sad by musicians who are screwup losers in their lives, while we scoff and look down on regular people with the same issues.

Kind of like how we commemorate John Lennon's being killed years after the fact and have little thought of a child being gunned down.

I'm not complaining or calling people out. It's just odd to me how we view things.

I concur on all counts.
