Didn't think I would like the movie. I hate movies featuring ww2 unless it's action but this was an eye opener.

I saw it in theaters in January. There may still be showtimes available, but it may depend on where you live.

I figure it’s just too depressing.

It’s on Max now, watched it last night.

It is outstanding.

Never seen a movie quite like it.

Finally getting to this now it’s on Max.. knew it won best sound at the Oscars

And immediately that haunting churning sound in the background hits … and I see why it won that.

It’s a great movie, the sound design some of the best I’ve heard with the constant wailing, gun shots, etc in the background

It’s a truly great film. It was my pick for best picture over Oppenheimer (which is also an excellent film).

Great movie that’s truly disturbing, but not in a distasteful way. I felt like I needed to shower afterwards. To us, what was the most horrific act committed in history was just another Tuesday for everyone involved.

Zone of interest

Thanks for all of the recommendations! I would never have thought to see this movie. Sounds like something I would love.

However, the name is terribly generic and uninformative. They did a poor job of naming this movie, even if after watching it, I think it’s appropriate.

A name must carry some of the load in sparking interest in a movie.

The zone of interest was the actual name of the living zones around the concentration camps.

This was not a made up title.

I think I do to.

The sound design was just unreal.

It's definitely going to be the most random selection for the next "what movie should I use to test my surround sound system" thread

I assumed that the title had some meaning that would be made clear by watching the movie. I thought I said that. Nonetheless, it’s a bad title for a movie in that it isn’t compelling or interesting without that the knowledge.

Lots of good movies have bad titles.

Lots of bad movies have good titles.

This movie had higher aspirations than blockbuster status.

I recommend listening to the score that plays during the end credits if you want to feel even more discomfort.

It’s an incredible watch. The sound editing is off the charts good.
