You guys ever talk to TV/Movie folks if you see them out and about?

Looking for something to discuss . . .

I’m sitting in a coffee shop in downtown B’ham and see the guy who played Dudley in the Harry Potter flicks sitting across the shop’s bar. He has lost a lot of weight (if you saw Buster Scruggs) so I wasn’t 100% sure it was him until I looked it up, and sure enough, he is working on a film here in the state. No one here seems to realize who he is though.

He seems busy (scribbling on a pad and talking on his phone) but it got me thinking . . . do you guys ever go up to famous movie/tv personalities or normally let them be?

I’ve seen a few in my life, and have always been on the side of leaving them alone. Any stories?

I leave them be unless they are openly looking to chat with people or if I am interacting with them for any official business. While I think it's neat to see someone in person that I've only seen on the stage or screen, I am not one to get starstruck. It's usually a "hey, is that XXX? Looks different in person" and then carry on with whatever it is I was doing.

Any details on where the film (The Devil all the Time) is being filmed in town? Just saw where Chris Evans dropped out.

Sat next to Steve Harvey on a flight from L.A. to Memphis my senior year in college in 2004 (somehow I got upgraded to first class, I def didn't have the $$ for it). He was a pretty cool guy

Well, losing your arms and legs will do that to you.

I work in film and I don’t even say anything to people I work with unless they acknowledge me first. In fact, even that only happened once with Margot Robbie.

Been on a lot of sets, usually people just leave them alone act natural unless the person initiates the convo themselves.

I went out of my way to talk to Sophia Bush who was making a movie in 2005 in new orleans. She was playing a goth and came to my friend's store to look for accessories. She was friendly and smelled like jasmine flowers, for real.

Was it that shitty movie Stay Alive? That was on the other day and it was even worse than I remember.

Yeah, It was sort of an inconvenience too because they filmed in a favorite coffee shop of mine. Blocked off roads, etc.

The carrot cake at that shop was amazing.

I talked to snoop about 20 minutes one time. It started out ok until I realized that I was talking to snoop. That's when I kinda got star struck.

I talked to President Bush in the lower ninth ward after Katrina. He ripped me up for turning and laughing at my helper who had fallen in a ditch trying to get to Bush and shake hands. He shouldered me out of the way and helped the guy up himself. Unfortunately blankstare and the former mayor were there too.

Met the guy who plays Joffrey at a bar once. It is just jarring how different he is from his character. You want to hate him, but he’s one of the nicest guys. He was actually putting on some sort of puppet show involving teddy bears if I remember correctly. The real life him is seemingly the antithesis to Joffrey.

I got another one that was just funny. I was gambling in Tunica and got pretty tanked. I go to this table and look across from me. I then drunkenly say, “You know, you look just like Ron White.” And he looks up and says “That’s because I am Ron White, you stupid frick.” I good laugh, he was funny at the table, and just treated him like any other guy. Great experience.

Well Morgan Freeman used to come over my aunt's/uncles house when I was a kid. He was cool but I never was awe struck like most. I just see celebrities as people.

He did try to run my kinfolk over with his pickup truck as a joke though.
My cousin was pissed but his dad and Morgan were laughing. I just stood there looking back and forth looking, like wtf
