Going to watch but man i liked it best when they were in a sandwich shop. Season 2 and later wasn't a good bit still had good episodes.

I agree. Finding the money at the end of season 1 should have been the cliffhanger. Season 2 should have been the transition. They were in such a hurry to get to the cool chef stuff, they forgot to tell a story to get there. All you have now is chef porn, and that only gets the degenerate Bourdain fans from 6 to midnight. Everyone else, just tunes out.

I just lost interest. It seemed liked it wasn't going anywhere after Season 2. Ambling wandering w/no direction.

Would people be upset if season 5 ends with Bear opening up a restaurant named Mikey's like he wanted to do in the s4 openee convo with his brother?

That doesn't seem to be the general concensus

I really liked when fans totally hated Carmie when he was all about the restaurant and not life, then totally hated him for being all in on life/love and not the restaurant.

I don't think that's much of it, TBH

Fans were probably frustrated with Carmie for the whole GF saga and being such a loser about it, and then frustrated with Carmie when he resumed the GF saga and was such a loser about it.

But the common denominator is 20 minutes per episode of Carmie smoking and brooding. I've never heard any fans of the show go "whoa there was too much kitchen action and Michelin talk in that one"

starting season 4. Season 1 and 2 were brilliant. Season 3 was really slow outside of a couple episodes. Napkin was fantastic.

Really enjoyed Gary. Jon B is a terrific actor. I hope they don't make me keep hating Sydney this season.

Hell of a bump. This made me think there was a new season out.
Drops 6/25, btw.

I wish they showed more of the original beef part of the restaurant in season 3. That seems to be the only part that is profiting and succeeding.

she's my MVP of season 3. Glad she just showed up on season 4

episode 4 "Worms" might be the worst episode of series. Following Sydney get her hair did and then babysit that girl. She's easily the worst character on the show.

The other 3 episodes were good for season 4.

The wedding episode was good but It wasn't in the ballpark of Napkins, Fishes, Forks, or Review.

How did that small table the daughter went under during the reception turn into a 25 foot table where 25 people fit under?

Season 4 started off good with the first 3 episodes but It might be just as bad as season 3 at this point. On episode 8. What happened to this once brilliant show?

The part where the family came in the restaurant and the daughter recovered from cancer and they made it snow outside was a classic bear ending.
Will we see that Michelin star review guy again that was sitting next to that family?

Ready to see how they end this

Funny you bump this thread, I just rewatched Forks a few minutes ago and it’s a top5 all time episode of tv for me. Multiple times it brings me to tears.

This episode makes me want to be a Better person overall and be the best at what I do and to truly love it with a passion.

Sometimes if I’m feeling down or need some encouragement , I put this episode on and to see Richie start to get that spark back after seeing the 3 star restaurant operate and the pride they take in all aspects.

Such a great life lesson to learn from this one

I might have to agree with this.

episode 9 was really good. Happy for Marcus on being nominated for the best new chef. I don't understand why food and wine showed up but didn't review the restaurant and food.

The ending song always gets me "Bruce Horsnby" The show goes on

They also threw some Eddie Veddar in there also.

finale was terrible. It's exhausting to listen to carmey and sydney talk and yell at each other now. Neither finishes a sentence and nothing ever gets resolved. I think season 4 was worse than season 3 now.

It’s my big criticism with the show. Nobody is ever capable of saying how they feel. It’s nothing but “um wow well ok cool uh frick you cousin. Totally not cool. Can we talk later? Yeah yeah sure what the frick is that? Ok cool talk later yeah? Yeah. Ok. Later”

I had to fast forward thru 15 minutes of them talking to each other in the finale. This show had the potential to be an all timer after season 2. No way they will end this to satisfy the fans anymore. I don't think they had an endgame when they started writing this show. 8 episodes won't be able to finish this show off in a satisfying way. IMO

We shall see.

We started a rewatch of Season 4 tonight. Through 3 episodes, it’s better the 2nd time around.

For all its faults, the show is great, but I’m glad that 5 seasons is the end. It doesn’t need to go on any longer
