Already confirmed for Doomsday, albeit with a toned down accent.
He is 6 years older than the new Professor X, so there is no way he survives Doomsday to be part of the reboot.

Is my Channing coming back ?
Looks like he'll be in Doomsday, and I'd bet Secret Wars also. That's probably it for his version of Gambit though. Pretty awesome that he got to play the character for a few movies though. Amazing that Ryan Reynalds is probably the reason Channing Tatum is playing Gambit in an Avengers movie.

Let's just wait to see if she's good for the role people lost their shite when Heath was cast for Joker and now even 18 years later people still think it's one of the best comic book castings of all time

I neither know or care either way, but I don’t understand why him being older than Professor X somehow breaks the story so the character version must die.
It’s not like every mutant or even member needs to be younger than Xavier and was taught/teaches at his school.

Bruh.
Canonically Wolverine is like 200 years older than him. What’s the difference? A mere six years…..a peer at that age, emphasized by the comics by having a satellite HQ in NO, fits all that.

I know nothing about the comics. Given they are recasting everyone, including Wolverine according to Deadline today, I find it highly unlikely they keep Channing who only has the role for fan service in the Deadpool movie. You’re welcome to believe they are.

I still don't get his popularity.

Wolverine is essentially immortal. It works better when they don't try to define that.
I do think Channing Tatum's Gambit would still work in this new world. Traditionally, comic book "reboots" of worlds or timelines tend to include some characters from the previous world or timeline that was "destroyed," so it wouldn't be totally unusual for some characters to cross over. Usually those are well established, very popular characters though (like X-Man/Nate Grey from Age of Apocalypse), or characters they want to use as a plot device (like Beast from Age of Apocalypse). Doesn't seem like something they'd do for a Gambit that's only been in one movie and was fortunate for that.

Good. Then you get why what I said is accurate.

If I could keep anybody from the movies, it would be Fassbender as Magneto.

I'd love to keep both him and Prof X, but I think they're going to recast the whole group.
I think the characters from the MCU/other old movies that would make the most sense to cross over, at least from a powers perspective, would be Loki, Dr Strange, and Scarlet Witch.
Seems like they'll be bringing Shang Chi forward. Either that or his movie after Secret Wars is meant as a bookend, but they announced it as the first movie of phase 7 so
Also seems obvious the Fantastic Four will move forward also.

Not in comics, but i think it would be a mistake for the movies. Channing Gambit is an abandoned idea from a previous vision of the characters. Good for him snagging one more moment in Doomsday. Any cast connections to previous eras will bring forth baggage from those previous eras. Better to start fresh.
I believe Disney has been so comfortable showing the Fox X-Men in Doomsday footage because they are all going to be dead within the first half hour.
