Ottomans kick arse as a foot stool. Not sure how you would get a movie out of one but it would be an interesting premise.

If the OP was talking about the Ottoman Turks... we've had "Lawrence of Arabia" already.

The Middle East, by and large, can't stand the Turks. A Western audience would be mostly limited to WWI movies (we've had a few of those) or maybe the Winged Hussars riding down from Poland to kick the crap out of the Turks at the Battle of Vienna. Or the blood feud between Vlad the Impaler and Turkey... though there have been quite a few movies on that one.

Don't get me wrong, it is a fascinating run through history for the Turks. I think my favorite is when, during one of the great many wars, a country was about to take Constantinople/Instabul from the Turks but the Russians asked them not to, so the honor of liberating the home of Orthodox Christianity could go to the Russians. The Russians, not surprisingly, then failed.

The Recliner Empire was more advanced and functional.

The Water Diviner with Russell Crowe is a decent movie.

There is a series on Netflix called Resurrection: Ertugrul that focuses on this time frame and point of view. Ertugrul is the father of Osman, who founded the Ottoman Empire. It’s aimed at the Turkish market so it’s a bit different. I would describe it as Vikings level historical fiction mashed up with a Telenovela and censored for a Muslim market.

So, no female nudity but lots of sex with young boys?

No sex at all. The most scandalous you get are occasional shots of the women in the series not wearing their headdress so you see their hair. Also, people get their heads cut off but blood gets blurred out.

There's a 2012 movie called The Day of the Siege with F. Murray Abraham. Think it's on Netflix. It's not great, but I watched it.

I’d watch a kinky yet historically accurate thriller/romance set in the harem

ETA: would also happily watch a movie where Ottomans get their butt kicked at Siege of Malta after years of raiding/enslaving local populations.

It wasn’t bad but felt kind of low budget.

I’d like to see a new movie with high production value about Lepanto or the 1529 or 1683 Vienna sieges.

Odd. Baskin is a Turkish movie and I haven’t seen it but it’s supposed to be one for the goriest movies to come out in the last twenty years
