Would love to see HBO or Netflix to a reboot of All in the Family

I know Archie Bunker wouldn't be able to say some of the things he did back then, but it would be funny to see who would be cast as Archie and Meathead.

They'd cast an all black cast, because diversity.

Which pretty much means you can't reboot All in the Family.

Or they'd pull the shite they did with the Dukes of Hazzard movie with the rebel flag, and be all apologetic about it.

The reboot would be Meathead in the present day sitting in that chair talking about how racist and evil white straight people are.

So, The Jeffersons?

No, no, no. The first is brilliant and should not be rebooted. If anything, folks should put their big kid pants on and the originals need to be shown on prime time.

There would be no way they would allow Archie to retain any of his humanity in a modern setting. He would become a one-note joke, or worse, a completely unsympathetic antagonist.
American can't handle nuance or anything offensive any longer. It's just not in us.

You're more likely to see a Madea reboot, simultaneously released against Madea 8, than a new Archie Bunker show.

Why do people keep saying this? You can get away with far more on network television than ever before.
Family Guy made All in the Family look like a Nickelodeon production.

You do realize an AITF reboot would be about a black Archie, his son, and the son's boyfriend?

Yall keep saying this, but you know they wouldn't call it The Jefferson's. It would be an All in the Family reboot where Archie is black, he has a gay son who dates a white dude.

For the crude/fat/ugly Meg/ giggitygiggity/pedo stuff, true. But they strayed away from the really racial dialogue if I remember correctly.
I’ll admit I haven’t watched FG in a solid 10’years though, so there is that.

So you don’t remember the episode where peter and Lois break into Cleveland’s house and find all the “Grape Soda Monthly” and “Orange Drank Quarterly” magazines?
Or when Peter inadvertently joined up with the Muslim terrorists?
Or the Asian lady driver saying “how much blinker I need to cross four lane of traffic? None? Ok! Good-a luck everybody-a else!”
I could keep going for hours on the racist (but funny) shite that has been on Family Guy.

Well it already did get rebooted. They called it All in the Family and it starred Carroll O'Conner as Archie Bunker.

The show came about when Norman Lear read an article in Variety magazine on Till Death Us Do Part and its success in the United Kingdom. He immediately knew it portrayed a relationship just like the one between his father and him.
Lear bought the rights to the show and incorporated his own family experiences with his father into the show.

We keep saying this because the Jeffersons was literally all in the family for black people. Because diversity
