It's a populist diatribe for sure. The scarecrow is the stupid, uneducated, fiscally ignorant farmer. The Tin Man is an urban factory worker, perhaps. The Cowardly Lion is William Jennings Bryan. I took a less optimistic message from the story, being "Just get me the hell out of here."

He made one worse the very next year. At least "The Happening" is unintentionally funny at some points, but "The Last Airbender" is undoubtably the biggest frick you to a fanbase in cinematic history.
I did not see The Last Airbander because I had already heard how god awful it was. However, when I watched The Happening, I wished I was in the movie.

I knew absolutely nothing about A Beautiful Mind going in.
I didn't either, but I'm not sure how you can complain about the accounts of a real persons life being a bad plot twist.

Just watched Insidious and that one took a strange turn for the worst.

I'm going to get killed for this. And I still LOVE the movie, but I was much more interested in the way Hot Fuzz was going with the real estate angle more than the crazy cultists deal. I kind of wish they would have stuck with it.

I loved how stupid the reason was for the murderings when there seemed to be a good reason for doing the murders. That was where the movie went from great to simply fantastic.

Actually the plot twist I'm thinking of has nothing to do with it being a dream or not; its the reveal of the true antagonist in the film: Glenda the Good Witch. Seriously think about it. All the Witch really wanted was the Ruby Slippers, that were actually rightfully hers. Dorothy wanted nothing to do with the slippers, and the Wicked Witch wasn't influenced by her sister's death in pursuing Dorothy. All she wanted back was her stolen property. But instead Glenda the Good Witch forces Dorothy to wear them against her will, eventually leading to her murdering the Wicked Witch. Then in the end, its revealed that Glenda knew the whole time how Dorothy could get home, but first makes her murder someone. Aside from lighting the scarecrow on fire, what did the Wicked Witch do that was really evil all in all? Glenda was the true antagonist of the film since she's the one who incites the conflict in the film.
Someone's been reading Cracked.

what was the revelation/twist on the village? never saw it.
Posted on 8/9/11 at 1:38 pm to TDTGodfather
I never said that Glenda being the antagonist was my original idea, but yeah I first encountered it from Cracked and thought that they were spot on.

Just give credit where it's due in the initial post, and it's all good.

Halle Berry had involvement in some bad ones (Perfect Murder, Rich Man's Wife)
Other bad ones are Basic and Perfect Getaway.
A little known indie from David Lynch's daughter, called Surveillance, has a big one and it actually works. Honestly, the twist Million Dollar Baby floored me.

So that makes only 2 plot twists in all of M. Night's films. Why does he get blasted for the overuse of them?
Bruce Willis being Superman wasn't a plot twist?
