But Signs... It was so stupidly bad from concept to finished product that it was hilarious. And I am pretty sure that wasn't the original intent.

You are off topic! There was no plot twist in Signs!

You can even argue that there wasn't one in Sixth Sense. All there is is a revelation to a character.

When Neo can see the Matrix after he dies then comes back is that a plot twist? No. That's a revelation.

Nah... It wasn't like you were hanging on a thread trying to figure it out. And given the characters on the farm at the beginning you knew who most of them were in the dream world. Maybe you didn't know it was a dream, but you knew it was people from home. Especially the witch.

I don't think you can. Especiually with your example of a "revelation."

Neo being able to see the Matrix after he dies was a development of the character.

The Sixth Sense twist changes the perspective of the entire film.

What got me most about The Village was the Old English manner of speaking which ultimately didn't make sense because of the twist.

Me too. It made no sense at all. Neither did the clothes. Abolutely ridiculous movie.

I liked it because it felt like a play.

And you've never been to a renaissance fair then?

And the clothes? If you were shut off to society, how do you expect your homemade clothes to look?

You guys need to think what you are saying.

Ok. You're right.

But can we all agree that Signs does NOT have a plot twist?

So that makes only 2 plot twists in all of M. Night's films. Why does he get blasted for the overuse of them?

Actually the plot twist I'm thinking of has nothing to do with it being a dream or not; its the reveal of the true antagonist in the film: Glenda the Good Witch. Seriously think about it. All the Witch really wanted was the Ruby Slippers, that were actually rightfully hers. Dorothy wanted nothing to do with the slippers, and the Wicked Witch wasn't influenced by her sister's death in pursuing Dorothy. All she wanted back was her stolen property. But instead Glenda the Good Witch forces Dorothy to wear them against her will, eventually leading to her murdering the Wicked Witch. Then in the end, its revealed that Glenda knew the whole time how Dorothy could get home, but first makes her murder someone. Aside from lighting the scarecrow on fire, what did the Wicked Witch do that was really evil all in all? Glenda was the true antagonist of the film since she's the one who incites the conflict in the film.

while we're on the subject of plot twists, eff Jerry Maguire for making me think it was a movie about the cut-throat world of sports agents.

Not a plot twist. It's the end of the film.

That's like saying Se7en or Ocean's 11 has a plot twist. Scott Tennerman Must Die has a plot twist.

I'd like to properly respond to this. But apparently I need to rematch Wizard of Oz

Mainly because I'm not remembering the good witch forcing Dorothy to wear the slippers. I thought she gave them to her and just sent her to Oz because that would get her home. If it was the witch of the East that died and owned the slippers, why would they be rightfully owned by the witch of the West? And even though she only does one truly evil act doesn't mean that she isn't evil. If you set me on fire and laugh while I'm burning you're going to be considered a pretty evil person right? She had wicked intentions the whole time and in the book did much more than what was in the movie. Its been some years but I need to rematch it because me memory of Glenda is kind of shoddy.

She forcefully placed them on her, and Dorothy does try to take them off, to no avail.

Because that was her sister.

Unless its the killer of the person gets the property, those shoes are certainly not rightfully Dorothy's.

Worst one that I can think of came from a movie called Twisted, with Sandra Bullock, Andy Garcia, and Samuel L. Jackson.

This movie had so many plot twists in the end that it was like they were thinking "ok, we haven't tricked the audience quite enough yet, let's have one, maybe 2 more ridiculous turns in the plot. ok, go!"

This movie came out 4-5 years after Sixth Sense when it was really trendy to put a plot twist in the movie and this one joined in and overdid it to the max.
