We had "woke" moments in classic films. If they were released today we'd hear bitching and moaning about "modern woke filmmakers". I don't think that anyone walked out of or turned off Jurassic Park because of Ellie's repeated feminist jabs and eye-rolling at chauvinism.

She was one second away from MeTooing Ian Malcolm in the car during his water drop demonstration.

It has destroyed comedy movies. Gimme some Blazin Saddles etc rather than the bs they are putting out and labeling as comedy.

Now you contend that if the series lead of a show is white male, it is a failure of representation?

I literally Never said that.

One guy talked about how I probably not was to have a bunch of human females in a universe of aliens and I pointed out no one had an issue with 3 white humans being the main characters of the original trilogy.

And together, we wittled your contention down to, the series protagonist was not black or a woman, there was ineffective representation in relation to society.

The "we", is you and I.

I feel like we are a team, while I help you through these things

A link to a quote from you.

Again, Lando isn’t a main characters he’s a secondary character.

I mean it singlehandedly killed comedies.

Comedians too. They are so lame compared to the days of Kinnison and Murphy.

I’m really getting tired of black/white couples

The Adam Sandler basketball movie annoyed me when Sandler’s wife was black and it was just a very weird relationship/vibe with that couple

Nonsense. This is you projecting your feelings onto a movie couple. Sandler and Latifa were completely believable as a middle-aged interracial couple. Your uneasiness with seeing WM/BW pairings doesn't make it weird. The weirdness is your own.

He is a main character, he is not the series protagonist.

Luke is the series protagonist.

-That link was you agreeing that anyone that isn't Luke is secondary.

-Your original contention was that there was only whites in the major characters

-Ergo, Unless Luke is non-white then all the major characters are white.

I don't care one way or another. The only annoyance for me is when existing plots and characters are adjusted to be more "modern" and end up completely changing a story (see The Witcher, Star Wars, half of Marvel, The Martian, pretty much any historical fiction, etc.). I really just cannot watch any historical movies anymore due to the need to completely rewrite history Nineteen-Eighty Four style.

Organic "wokeness" (isn't really wokeness), and I can live with it.

Forced "diversity" is the worst sort of starting point for anything. I'm not saying it can't be good and have forced diversity. I'm saying that that's where the effort usually stops.

Diversity for diversity's sake is one of the dumbest things modern society has come up with.

Alonso always seems to get it when people shut on interracial couple but you give people the benefit of the doubt when they shite on black actors.

Blah, blah, blah, frick off. I take issue when interracial couples are called weird or abnormal.

But no issues when black people
In shows are called that.

You really ignore the racists till they’re at your door.

The two things are not related. Support of one does not require support of the other. One is a fictional tv show involving fantastical creatures. The other is real life. The only racist at my door right now is you.

bullshite. You can tell that those two wanted absolutely nothing to do with each other physically. The hugs were weird and odd and there was just no chemistry whatsoever between those two. It was awkward
