This is certainly true of conservative states, which is why the American government spent so much of the late 30s and 40s bullying Hollywood studios into making propaganda war films.
So your example of right wing propaganda is war bond ads from the 1940’s? You have anything from this century?

I guess so. It must not have been any actual “outrage“. That’s really a far reach, but if that’s all you have,
Spider-Man no way home was basically a one off. Drawing off nostalgia bait from Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire. And what was woke about it? Oh yeah, absolutely nothing.
I like the part where you completely omitted the multiple megaflops that Disney cranked out, which resulted in a negative profit for the year.
And I have news for you, just because a movie earned a lot of money doesn’t mean it made a lot of money. When taking into account, production cost, advertising, etc., many lost money or underperformed.. But keep trying.
*The general rule of thumb is a movie needs to earn twice its production budget in order to break even*

Spoilers for top gun maverick*****
You mean the one that got left at home during the actual mission? If Top Gun was woke, not only would she have gone on the mission, she would have saved Tom Cruise at the end and then kissed her girlfriend on screen whenever she got back.

a handful of posters pointing out obvious check-in-the-box inclusions in a movie is a far cry from "outrage" or claims of wokeness. you are being intellectually dishonest. there may have been a couple claims of such, but the massive majority of the board loved the movie and loved it's clear anti-wokeness

I don't categorize a normal movie as anti-woke. It was just a good movie, a good emotional story, had some nostalgia, and stayed away from typical propaganda we sort of expect from Hollywood these days.
Has Hollywood/artists always had some sort of message to send? Yes. I watched the Beastie Boys accept an award in the 90's and MCA's entire acceptance speech was about how the war at that time wasn't necessary. That the US needed to put the guns down and shite.
With that said, when given a platform, a message will always meant to be sent. My problem is changing something just for the sake of changing. Race swaps, gender swaps, making alternative lifestyle more mainstream than it really is.

Especially before the show is even out and they haven't seen it.
There’s a reason some can tell you how a movie or show is going to play out before it airs. It’s because they know the business. They know the directors and they know what they are going to try to do with certain characters or storylines.
And then you’re going to act all surprised when people are upset that they called it exactly right?

Top 3 Domestic Box Office:
2023
1. Barbie (Woke)
2. Super Mario Brothers (Woke)
3. Across the Spider Verse (Woke)
2022
1.Top Gun Maverick (Woke)
2.Wakanda Forever (Woke, Disney)
3.Multiverse of Madness (Woke, Disney)
2021
1: Spider-Man: No Way Home (Disney)
2: Shang Chi (Woke, Disney)
3: Let there be Carnage (Haven't seen it. Probably Woke)
Funny thing about that list: All of these (minus one) are simply repackaging existing characters/intellectual properties.
Not a single fkin new idea in the bunch....
Apparently woke = unable to think for oneself and come up with new ideas....

yeah i probably should have said "non-woke" or "woke-neutral" haha. fair point though. it was just a good movie, at did not have an obvious political message shoehorned in.

In before the obligatory "stop letting some YouTuber tell you what to think!" comment.
It's never been about any of that.
You seriously called him your "overlord" in another thread. You legit worship him. I honestly believe you would pay to suck this guy off. Your obsession with him is really weird.
I might agree with this dude but I will never watch a minute of any of his videos simply because of how weird the people that obsess over him are.

She was hand picked by Maverick to be in the lead pair with him. Rooster was 2nd string.

So many of your posts are obsessed with wokeness in movies. We all know it exists, and I just avoid it. Does it really matter that "Hollywood is FAILING". Cinema as an artistic medium is a complete failure compared to its expectations 100 years ago. Do you think there's any serious film theory done since the 70's? frick, no. Film failed as an art form and everyone knows it. No one fricking cares about movies that much. It's entertainment. It's not important. Choose things that entertain you and ignore things that don't.
I actually enjoy your other posts that aren't woke-obsessed.

I guess that’s a reference towards Disney, but it wasn’t that long ago that people were clamoring for the movies. But even as that was happening, there was a dark mind virus infecting not just Hollywood but society overall. One just has to look towards Canada to see the damage being done.
People need to understand that this isn’t happening organically, but instead is actually being coordinated by like-minded individuals.
In fact, the very popularity of certain genre are what make them targets for this cultural rot. That’s why we have a blizzard of.wash-rinse-repeat themes that undercut established characters & IPs with lesser, derivative garbage, all preaching The Message.

I'm not trying to be overly critical of you, but the thread title did make it obvious that we are discussing "wokeness" in Hollywood. If you are so exhausted by OP, then why enter the thread?

You left out the part where she would have explained to Maverick why his impulsive toxic masculinity almost got everyone killed and how her expertise and female intuition is what really saved the day.
Because … vagina.
