Just googled it...it's actually a non-profit teaching hospital that has a board of directors that is a mix of donors and faculty. Basically...it's a charity hospital.

haha. my wife used to be hooked on the show but she quit watching 2 seasons ago. I have this season dvr'd. if i get bored over the holidays... i'll watch it. (not for the house flesh of course)
