What's the name of the evil race from a neighboring galaxy that appears in the fan fiction? Them.
But I'm not confident that this won't suck in any event, especially after seeing the latest Star Trek movie. An elaborate formula is still a formula, JJ.
Let me write the damn thing and it would be awesome.

The Yuuzhan Vong?

The Yuuzhan Vong?
Not that stroking the fanboys should be the main concern, but I think an all-consuming malice is much better than yet another Darth Sith Guy.
(reads other thread. gets depressed)
Dammitt. I even have characters and storylines. My Star Wars movie would be awesome, and my constantly pissed off child version of whatever Yoda is would be an instant classic.
But it ain't gonna happen. More formulaic crap from JJ Abrams. He used time travel in his story, Lana. fricking time travel.

Confession:
I have never seen (in entirety) the following films:
Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope
Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi
Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones
What should I do?

I can't imagine my only concept of star wars being episode 1 and 3

I know main character names, major story arcs, outcomes of events. I've seen the major scenes. I have just never sat down and watched any of them start to finish.
Are they on netflix? I may do this in the very near future
ETA: think about what that says about you as a person, that you allow someone like me to be friends with you

Like oh said, I'm rethinking a lot. It's not on Netflix, doubt it ever will be.
Eta: I don't understand what you have been watching instead all these years, nfl network replay games from the 1986 preseason?

Be honest. If you read all the books, theres no way they could condense that into three movies. No way.
True. But they seem to be doing a pretty entertaining job with condensing Game of Thrones into 10hrs per season. And I would like to see how they would bring Vergere to the big screen.

Imagine a Star Wars television series, done on HBO, based on the Yuuzahn Vong invasion. Just imagine it, then go to bed tonight weeping, knowing that something this awesome will never ever happen.

Probably won't be weeping as hard as I did after watching Episodes I, II and III. But God it would be epic.

Grand Admiral Thrawn or the Yuuzhan Vong.

Grand Admiral Thrawn
I would love to see it, but they'd get him wrong. He has to be just as charismatic and just as devious as he is in the books. The studio would probably insist on him being another Vader clone; a bad guy, conveniently dressed in black, who is bad because the movie needs a bad guy.
There was a scene in the book where Thrawn had Luke and his XWing in sight. He had his Star Destroyer lock a tractor beam onto the XWing. Luke new he was caught, but he did a maneuver to get out of the tractor beam and go to light speed; something about putting the Xwing in reverse then dumping it into drive.
Thrawn went to the man who was working the tractor beam. Everyone one the bridge of the destroyer expected him to pull a Vader; ie force choke the dude for failing. Thrawn asked the man what had happened. The man explained Luke's maneuver. Thrawn told the man something like "It is now your job to figure out how Skywalker got out of the tractor beam, and how we can make sure that never happens again." At that point Thrawn had the love and respect of his crew.
He wasn't evil for evil's sake. He was a leader.
