Say they remake The Searchers. Who could pull off his role?

I could only think of:

Bradley Cooper
Chris Pratt

Loved him in true grit but he’s starting to get up there

Hated the remake of "True Grit" with his mumbling all the lines with that hard arse drawl. He sounded like a redneck with a mouthful of potatoes.

Josh Brolin seems kind of obvious.

Need someone who can do hard, bitter, and stoic.

Ethan Edwards was an imposing man

A younger Costner ( he's been good in westerns)

Tim Olyphant can play the type

Impossible.

Can't have Indians kidnap a little girl - would have to be white supemacists.

The Duke part would have to be played by a tranny.

Thought of him too but he’s short as hell. Wayne is tall and has a presence about him that I can’t find in any of todays talent

That's how little you think of the Duke?

Is he riding Lil' Sebastian to fight the Comanches and save Natalie Wood?

So acting was way different in the 60s. Wayne was 49 when he made the searchers! He was the current and future of filmmaking!! What would that look like today? Some didn’t like Jeff bridges remake of true grit. He portrayed more logically what a man at that time would act and sound like as a drunk bounty hunter!
