I started watching this last night. I only watched about 30 minutes of it.. not that it was bad or anything, I just fell asleep

But as I was watching this, I kept saying to myself that the show feels like I am watching a Suits knockoff

Anybody think this could be a show to get into? I see there are 6 seasons available

White Collar premiered 2 years before Suits.

That... and it's literally nothing like Suits.

WC is better than Suits & nothing like it.

It has Tiffani Thiessen & Alexandra Daddario.

I understand it is nothing like suits as far as the storyline goes

It just felt like it was produced like suits.. a little cheesy but a little edgy.. can’t really explain it

They were both USA shows originally. All their shows from around that time had a similar feel

That explains it! Did not know that

I feel like the main dude acts exactly like Mike Ross who I could not stand in Suits so I probably won’t be lasting much longer on this show

That would be a mistake.

Isn’t the main actor gay?

And that's relevant... how ?

Matt Bomer is gay, I think, but his character was a criminal and I don't think his sexuality was ever an issue. If it was, I never saw it in the show.

It’s hard to take him seriously as a ladies man if I know he smokes pole.

Necessary Roughness

All pretty much the same tone. Was going to put Burn Notice on there too, but that's kind of a different animal. Probably my favorite to rewatch though.

The success of Suits seems to have gotten noticed. It's even being discussed on FNT last night, with the lack of any quality shows out now, the mini trend, at least , is to bring back some fan favorites from the before times.

You left off some of the better USA shows from that era:

Psych
Monk
Burn Notice

To the OP, these USA shows were all great Popcorn TV. If you're looking for Prestige Cable that's going to make you binge for 4 days straight, look elsewhere. If you want to relax and enjoy some casual viewing on the couch, you now have a solid list of shows to watch from this thread.

Great show. Think of it like if Catch Me If You Can had a sequel about Abignale working with the govt after he was caught.

Thank you.

I feel the same way about Doogie in HIMYM. Once the horse has left the barn, there is no pretending.

White Collar actually kept its charm through it's run, is a buddy cop/heist show, and never really loses its focus on the main character throughout the series.

Mix that with it also premiered before Suits and you have a recipe for a bad OP.
