Lost will always be the greatest Pilot and nobody will convince me otherwise.
And I'll agree that the Americans was pretty perfect.

Even though the series kinda sucked in hindsight the pilots were pretty good:

I'll add another one, but it really doesn't count since it started with a mini-series.
BSG (2004) is started with the mini-series, however the first actual episode "33" is just an amazing episode and I'd put it up there with best episodes in TV history.
