The shield was consistently good all the way through and the storylines never let up but synced together brilliantly in the end.

I totally disagree, I rewatched the shield recently and the Kavanaugh stuff realllllly drags. Also the last season is just not good either.

I have never seen The Wire. I am currently binging Law and Order and I like it a lot. Is The Wire better than LO? What service is The Wire on?

Bubbles was the worst character in the show. I was hoping they'd kill him off sooner. McNulty was a prick but at least it was comedy. Bubbles was just a junkie

If you watched the entire series, particularly the finale, and dont understand the importance of Bubbles' role then you werent interpreting the show deeply enough.

To add, The Shield and The Wire were both great television and both should be watched.

The Wire has deeper, complex plots and motivations that aren't always explained to the viewer, which I thoroughly enjoy.

The Shield is a more in your face show, a bit more action oriented, that is more suitable for a general audience.

I liked The Wire better, wife liked The Shield better. I'd imagine most households would be similar.

This might be one of the most ridiculous discussions I’ve read on this board.

The Shield, by far. It’s amazing and it sticks the landing, to boot.
