Need to watch it asap. Probably to this day the best embodiment of Batman himself.

#1, though, would be Scott Pilgrim.

Scott Pilgrim I'm not sure meets the definition. Yeah they have superpowers, but it feels more like a comic book or a videogame than a super hero flick. But it would definitely be up there.

I might catch some criticism for this, but I'm not a big fan of Superman. Reeve and Hackman are great for their parts, but the movie is just really boring imo. Now the sequel was pretty good

TDK

Spiderman
X2
Batman Begins
Spiderman 2
X1
Batman (1989)
Incredibles
Iron Man
First Class
Watchmen
Incredible Hulk
Captain America

Last group is very interchangeable

Sin City

If we are including those, I would add those to my small list after Superman and before Dark Knight.

Watchmen because it has something to say and Sin City for the cinematic eye-candy.

1) The Dark Knight

3) Batman Begins
4) Mask of the Phantasm (more people should be listing this)
5) X-Men 2
6) Spiderman 2
7) Watchmen
8) Kickass

Solid list, this is pretty much what my list would be (I haven't seen X-Men FC yet, though). The only major change I would make would be having Watchmen higher. That was a top 5 super hero movie, IMO.

Also, Mask of the Phantasm is amazing. Oddly enough, I was actually planning on watching it again tomorrow.

X-Men 2
TMNT 1 and 2 (if that counts)
TDK
Spiderman 2
Blade trilogy
Batman (89)
Batman Begins
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
X-Men
Spiderman

That's a good top ten IMO (counting each line as one). I'm one of the few that doesn't really jizz on Iron Man. Also, I saw X-Men: First Class last night, and I thought it was really just okay. Nothing special IMO.

BTW, Wiki has a good list of "superhero movies" for reference: LINK

Me too. The first 45 minutes of the first one was awesome. As good as it gets for superhero movies. But it really tails off after that. The lack of a good villain hurts it. I don't think it holds up well after multiple watches. The second one had great villains and I thought it was about as good as they could have asked for. I like it about the same.

You have Wolverine and not First Class. The Coin Scene alone was better than everything in that film combined.

Completely agree. Love everything up to escaping from the cave, then it goes downhill quickly. Same with Thor. Up until his banishment, the film was great. Plus it's really the exact same plot, but with Vikings.

The Incredibles
Superman 2

I like a lot more, but these are the ones that really stand out.
